Soldotna's Blackburn named to All-Academic team

Recent Air Force Academy graduate Paige Blackburn of Soldotna has been named to the U.S. Track and Field All-Academic Team for a third time, the school announced last Thursday.
The reigning Mountain West champion in the javelin completed her four-year career with a 3.50 GPA in civil engineering, and placed fifth in the javelin throw at the North America, Central America and Caribbean (NACAC) Under-23 Championships on July 8 in Guanajuato, Mexico. Blackburn also attempted to qualify for the London Olympics games in June, but did not make it.
