CIA soccer finds success in Anchorage

The Cook Inlet Academy boys soccer team played a 2-2 draw against Holy Rosary of Anchorage on Saturday afternoon at Dela Vega fields. Bryce Horton and Scott Habermann each notched a goal for the Eagles.
CIA shut out Lumen Christi 11-0 in the second game of the day, with hat tricks being scored by Timmy Smithwick and Madison Orth.
The Eagles are now 8-1-1.
In Friday’s action, at the MTA Complex in Palmer, CIA beat Wasilla Lake Christian School 3-2.
CIA built a 3-0 lead by halftime in that game, with goals scored by Orth, Habermann and Connor Leaf. Two late goals from Wasilla kept CIA honest, but leaving with the victory. Habermann now holds 12 goals this season.
CIA coach Kenny Leaf also noted defensive performance from Bryce Horton, Keefe O’Dell, Mylon Weems, and Cara Davidson.
The previous week, CIA lost 3-2 to Lumen Christi in the TriValley Tourament, with goals being scored by Habermann and Megan Bauder.
