Nome wins Peninsula Challenge

Nome defeated Skyview in the championship match of the Peninsula Challenge in Homer in two games, with scores of 25-20 and 25-22.

Homer edged Seward for third place, taking the first match 25-18 and the second 25-23.

The All-Tournament team was announced afterward, with many Peninsula athletes being included.

Skyview had three athletes on the team — Marlee Cunningham, Haley Ramsell and Holley Ramsell — as well as Homer, with Zoia Basargin, Cayenna Anderson and Caroline Decreeft. Seward’s Ashley VonBorstel also made the cut.
