Area teams compete in ACS wrestling invite

Skyview led the Kenai Peninsula wrestlers at the ACS Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Anchorage with a fifth-place finish.

The Panthers scored 133 points, while Bethel won the meet with 258.5 and Kotzebue was second with 177.5. Also from the area in the top 20, Nikiski was seventh and Seward was 11th.

The Peninsula’s championships came from Nikiski's Lincoln Johnson at 195 and Skyview's Seth Hutchison at 98 pounds. Johnson won the title by a major decision.

Also in the finals, Skyview’s Austin Craig lost at 113 and Howie Hubbard lost due to a pin at 285.
