Homer hockey tops Kenai Central

Posted: November 20, 2012 - 11:41pm

The Homer hockey team defeated visiting Kenai Central 3-0 on Tuesday in North Star Conference action.

The Kards are now 2-7 and 0-1 in the conference.

“We played a little bit better,” Kenai Central coach Pete Iverson said. “We could have used a couple goals, of course.”

Kenai has been giving up a lot of goals this year. Iverson said the defense was much better Tuesday.

“That was really good for us, but I think they were missing a couple of their big guns,” Iverson said.

The coach said Ben Mills was solid in net, while Kyle Olson played well at forward and Collin Morse did a good job switching off between defense and forward.
