Hakkinen competes in World Cup biathlon

Kasilof biathlete Jay Hakkinen got in his first two individual World Cup races of the season Thursday and Saturday in Oestersund, Sweden.

Thursday, Hakkinen finished tied for 63rd in the 20-kilometer individual. He had one miss on the range and finished in 55 minutes and 56.8 seconds, 5:12.1 behind winner Martin Fourcade of France.

In Saturday’s 10-kilometer sprint, Hakkinen was 75th. He had three misses on the range and finished in 28:05.5, 2:55.1 behind winner Jean Philippe Leguellec of Canada.
