Kenai, SoHi, North Pole win at Kenai River Challenge

Kenai Central, Soldotna and North Pole won on the opening day of the Kenai River Challenge at Kenai Central on Thursday.

Kenai cruised past Service 41-11. Justice English had 11 points to lead the Kards, while Sydney Taylor and Carly Norvelle each had 10 points.

Also in tournament play, Soldotna cruised to an easy victory by topping Mt. Edgecumbe 65-28. Kaillee Skjold paced the Stars with 16 points, while Julie Litchfield had 13 and Katelynn Kerkvliet had 10.

Finally, North Pole topped Nikiski 57-37. Raegan Smothers led the Patriots with 21 points, while Willow Stewart had 15 points and Josie Broderick had 13 points. For Nikiski, Alyssa Darch pumped in 13 points.
