Kalenik Molodih poured in 27 points to lead the Nikolaevsk boys to a 71-49 nonconference victory Tuesday over Akiak.

The Warriors also got 16 points from Zachary Trail, 15 from J.D. Mumey and 12 from Sage Stanish. Arthur Philli led Akiak with 20 points.

A 26-14 start to the game helped Nikolaevsk reach halftime up 36-22, and the Warriors put the game away in the third quarter by outscoring Akiak 22-12.

Nikolaevsk girls 51, Akiak 49

The Warriors held on to snag a nonconference win Tuesday over Akiak.

Elizabeth Fefelov led Nikolaevsk with 19 points while Kristin Klaich added 13 and Markiana Yakunin chipped in 10. Miranda Demientieff paced Akiak with 22 points.

Nikolaevsk led 24-23 at halftime, then won the third quarter 18-9 to take a 42-31 edge. However, Akiak charged back in the fourth but came up short.

Soldotna JV boys 46, Ninilchik 14

The SoHi JV boys dominated a nonconference meeting Tuesday night in Soldotna.

Hudson Metcalf led the Stars with 12 points, while Ninilchik was paced by Jake Clark’s 10. Cole Hadro and Robert McGinnis chipped in two points each.

The Stars led 15-4 after one quarter and 27-6 at halftime as Ninilchik struggled to break the SoHi defense.

Soldotna JV girls 31, Ninilchik 25

The Wolverines narrowly lost to the SoHi JV girls Tuesday night in Soldotna.

Ninilchik’s DeeAnn White hit 10 of 15 free throws to finish with a game-high 16 points.

The two teams were tied at 10 apiece at halftime, but SoHi outscored Ninilchik 13-5 in the third quarter to pull away.
