Snowmachine drag races held in Caribou Hills

Freddie’s Roadhouse, located at Mile 16 Oilwell Road, is sponsoring snowmachine drag racing in the Caribou Hills this winter, and Sunday marked the sixth race in the season series of 11 races. Volunteers and the Caribou Hills Cabin Hoppers also come together to make the event happen.

Participating racers, who must be a member of the Kenai Peninsula Racing Lions, got a great day of snow Sunday. That, and the growing popularity of the event, drew the winter’s biggest field, by far. Jeff Hanson was the day’s big winner, taking four first places on the day.
