Mike Morgan and Chris Olds were in the lead in the Iron Dog on Thursday night.
The two were the first team into Kaltag, where they declared their 10-hour layover. They got to Kaltag at 3:38 p.m.
Marc McKenna, of Anchorage, and Dusty VanMeter, of Kasilof, led the field into Unalakleet, but they decided to take their layover there, while a few teams went ahead to Kaltag.
McKenna and VanMeter are in sixth and got to Unalakleet at 12:25 p.m.
Scott Davis, of Soldotna, and Todd Palin, of Wasilla, are in 10th. They got to Unalakleet at 1:53 p.m. and took a 10-hour layover.
Kaltag is 95 miles from Unalakleet.
