Borough middle school ski results posted

The Kenai Peninsula Borough Middle School Ski Meet was held Saturday at the Kenai Golf Course, hosted by Kenai Middle School.

 

There were two races, each three kilometers in length. An interval freestyle race was followed an hour later by a wave start classical race.

In the girls competition, three racers were within eight seconds of each other after the first race — Addison Gibson of Kenai Middle won at 10 minutes, 18 seconds, while Riana Boonstra of KMS and Mia Alexson of Homer Middle were second and third, respectively, at 10:26. Boonstra won the classic race at 13:49, while Alexson was second at 14:00 and Gibson was third at 14:30. That left Boonstra as the overall winner Alexson in second and Gibson in third.

In the boys competition, Karl Danielson of KMS won the skate race by 34 seconds and the classic race by 12 seconds. John-Mark Pothast of Soldotna Middle was second in both races.
