I'm currently in Juneau after a quick trip to Soldotna for the State Squash Championships this past weekend. There were participants from Anchorage, Portland, Seattle, Palmer, Eagle River and of course the Kenai Peninsula.
I would like to send a note of thanks to all who helped put this terrific event together. Gary Schoenrock and his wife Carolyn (Woman's State Champion), as well as Mike Penland deserve special recognition.
I have played squash for a little over two years after a lifetime of Baseball, Basketball, Football, Tennis and Racquetball. There is no doubt in my mind that squash is the top workout and an incredibly good time.
I highly recommend anyone on the Peninsula to give Gary, Carolyn or Mike a call and give this game a try. The squash community is full of wonderful folks.
Again I thank all the "Squashers" for a great time this past weekend!
