Softball roundup

The Soldotna softball team split with Kodiak on Friday and Saturday in Kodiak in Northern Lights Conference action.

 

On Friday, the Stars notched an 11-2 victory.

Soldotna was leading 5-2 until the top of the seventh inning, when the Stars put seven runs on the board.

Madeline Wilcox had a bases-clearing double in the fifth inning, while Ila Cobb added a two-run single.

Serena Prior picked up the win on the mound, pitching the whole game and striking out six while walking five.

Satuarday, the Bears came back to claim an 11-1 victory, leaving both teams at 1-1 overall and in the league.

Kodiak took control early, notching six runs in the first inning and five runs in the second inning. The Bears took advantage of six SoHi errors in those first two innings.

Prior took the loss in the game. She had five strikeouts and seven walks.
