Three Kenai Central seniors recently joined the list of Peninsula athletes moving on to hone their craft in college football.

J’von O’Neal was recruited as a wide receiver at Graceland University in Iowa, an NAIA school, on a partial scholarship.

Duncan Brewer also has a partial scholarship to play at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, an NAIA school, as a defensive tackle.

Finally, Grayden Mendenhall will be suiting up as a linebacker at Yuba Community College in Marysville, Calif., a 2-year junior college.

Kenai football coach John Marquez said all three players were instrumental to the Kardinals football team, which won the first Alaska medium-school state championship in 2011.
