Weather forces changes to baseball, softball schedules

The weather continues to mess with baseball and softball schedules on the Kenai Peninsula.

In Friday baseball action, Homer was supposed to travel to Soldotna and Colony was supposed to travel to Kenai. Neither of those fields were ready to go Friday due to persistent rain.

The plan is to get the Kenai Little League field ready to go for Saturday. Here in the schedule: Kenai vs. Colony, 10 a.m.; Soldotna vs. Colony, 1 p.m.; Kenai vs. Wasilla, 4 p.m.; Homer vs. Wasilla, 7 p.m.

In Friday softball action on the central Peninsula, Service was supposed to travel to Kenai and Colony was supposed to travel to Soldotna. The Colony-SoHi game has been canceled. The Kenai-Service varsity game has been moved to Homer, set for a 6 p.m. start. The Kards' JV and varsity will stay in Homer to play East on Saturday at 10 a.m. and noon. Homer JV and varsity is slated to play East at 4 and 6 p.m. Friday, and Service at 10 a.m. and noon Saturday.

Note: This story was changed to reflect the change in Homer's opponent in the 7 p.m. Saturday baseball game in Kenai.
