Homer softball wins 1 of 4

 

The host Homer softball team lost to East 14-0 and 10-1 on Friday before losing to Service 14-13 before beating the Cougars 15-6 on Saturday.

Friday’s first game went four innings. The Mariners got just one hit in the game. In the second game, Homer managed five hits, but the Thunderbirds still cruised to victory in five innings.

In the first game against Service, the Cougars completed a big comeback for the victory.

Homer led 7-3 after the first inning, 10-6 after the second inning and 11-6 after three.

Service cut it to 11-8 after four, then scored six in the top of the fifth. Homer answered with two in the bottom of the inning.

The Mariners would allow no such comeback in the second game of the day. Homer led 5-2 after two and 9-4 after three.
