Softball roundup

The visiting Skyview softball team defeated Kenai Central 12-6 in five innings Thursday in Northern Lights Conference action.

The Panthers moved to 3-7 overall and 2-4 in the NLC.

Sam Reynolds picked up the win, pitching all five innings and striking out a pair.

“Defensively, we’re playing really solid ball,” Skyview coach Steve Schoessler said. “When we do make a little error, we don’t let it upset us.”

Everybody got a hit for the Panthers, while every player but one scored a run.

Jessica Lester was 3 for 3 with two RBIs, Victoria Oberts was 3 for 4 with three runs, Demery Garrant had two doubles, Molly Hughes was 2 for 4 with a triple and Reynolds was 2 for 4.

At the Soldotna Little League fields, Skyview hosts Houston at 5 and 7 p.m. today, and Kodiak at 12 and 2 p.m. Saturday.
