Tsalteshi expecting running and cycling series' to begin

Both the Salmon Run Series and the Salmon Cycle Series start this week at Tsalteshi Trails behind Skyview High School.

The Salmon Run Series begins today and continues for the next five weeks. The five-kilometer races start at the Skyview High School trailhead. Registration and bib pickup starts at 5 p.m., while races start at 6 p.m.

Online registration is $10 per race or $45 for all five races. Race-day registration is $15. Proceeds benefit the Kenai Watershed Forum.

For those who prefer biking, or cross training for that matter, the Salmon Cycle Series starts Thursday and continues for eight weeks.

The races start at the Skyview High School trailhead at 6 p.m. They will be 10K, and sometimes more.

The races are free for Tsalteshi Trails Association members, and $5 for nonmembers.
