Activities ramp up at Kenai Central, Skyview

Activities are starting up at Skyview High School.

From Monday through Thursday, there will be a football mini-camp at Skyview from 3 to 5 p.m. Those interested should meet in the upper gym. The camp will include speed tests, gear checkout, locker assignments, playbooks, weights and games.

There also will be a football cheerleading camp from Monday through Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost is $25, due at the registration on the first day of camp.

Practice for football, cheerleading and cross-country running will start Aug. 5

Football practice will be from 3 to 5:30 p.m., followed by lifting weights. Players should meet on the practice fields at 3 p.m.

Cross-country running practice will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

Athletes must have a current physical prior to practicing. Also, a parent or guardian should be present on the first day of practice to complete the required paperwork.

The Kenai Central football mini-camp will be from Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The camp is for all incoming freshmen through seniors at Kenai Central and costs $20. Those without a registration form can show up early Wednesday and fill one out. The contact for the camp is Jim Beeson at 252-5720.

Also, sports physicals will be available Aug. 3 at the high school, starting at 10 a.m. The cost is $15 and all male and female athletes are encouraged to get their sports physicals for the year. Beeson is the contact at 252-5720.
