Homer, Skyview win XC relays

The Homer running team hosted the Homer Cross Country Relays on Saturday at the Lookout Mountain Trails. The relays consisted of teams of four runners, each running two 1-mile legs, combining to total an 8-mile event.

The Mariners had the trails all to themselves in the girls varsity race, as the top team of Aurora Waclawski, Ziza Shemet-Pitcher, Pam Jantzi and Audrey Rosencrans ran to a winning time of 58 minutes, 58 seconds.

The Skyview boys won the boys varsity event in a time of 48 minutes, 31 seconds, a team consisting of Logan Hemphill, Micah Hilbish, Sky Schlung and Daniel Shuler.

GIRLS — 1. Homer (Waclawski, Shemet-Pitcher, Jantzi, Rosencrans), 58 minutes, 58 seconds; 2. Homer (Mitchell, Pitzman, Evarts, Lush), 1:00:38.

BOYS — 1. Skyview (Hemphill, Hilbish, Schlung, Shuler), 48:31; 2. Homer (Kilcher, Ochoa, Brant, Alward), 50:06; 3. Homer (Jette, Beachy, Vantrease, Graham), 50:20.
