Nikiski football players named to All-Conference list

The Greatland Conference All-Conference voting results were released on Tuesday, and a whole lot of Nikiski names made the list.

Five players made at least two appearances on the list, and two players — sophomores Luke Johnson and Jon McCormick — were honored on three occasions (Offense, defense and special teams).

In addition, Johnson was named the Greatland Conference Defensive Player of the year.

On offense, Nikiski had seven players named — sophomore Dennis Anderson as a first team quarterback, senior Michael Stangel as a first team fullback, junior Christian Riddall as a first team running back, Johnson as a first team guard, senior Tanar Jackson as a first team tackle, senior Garrett Feller as a first team wide receiver, and McCormick as a second team guard.

On defense, the Bulldogs had five players named — Johnson as a first team inside linebacker, Riddall as a first team outside linebacker, Stangel as a first team defensive back, McCormick as a first team defensive lineman, and sophomore Dylan Broussard as a second team defensive back.

On special teams, Nikiski had three players listed — Johnson as a first team punter, Feller as a second team kicker, and McCormick as a long snapper.
