Oilers Corner: Richardson returns to coach Oilers

It’s been a very busy fall/winter so far here in the Oilers office. Our roster for the 2014 season is almost complete and the schedule will be finalized within the week. We look forward to getting all this information out to you over the next few months.

We are proud to announce that Kyle Richardson will return as the head coach this season. He will be joined by returning coaches Brian Baisch and John Kennedy. New to the coaching staff will be Jon Tatum. Bios for these coaches will be included in Oilers Corner in the near future.

Players from the following colleges have signed contracts to play for the Oilers in 2014: University of Southern California, Arkansas Little-Rock, Samford University, East Tennessee State, Appalachian State, Southeastern Louisiana, University of Memphis, Georgia College, Florida Tech, Louisiana-Lafayette, University of Oklahoma as well as numerous other California colleges.

As always, we are looking for homes for these players this summer. Players will arrive around the June 5 and will leave town about July 28. Keep in mind that we are on the road for a good portion of the season. This is a very fulfilling experience for the entire family. We provide all transportation. If you have a free room available and would like more information please feel free to call the office at 283-7133.

The Oilers will once again hold the “Gusher” on Feb. 15. Time, location and tickets will be available in the next month or so. We appreciate your support at our annual fundraiser.

Our new and improved advertising and sponsorship packet is available. We have something to fit everyone’s budget. If you are looking to reach thousands of people in June and July call the office or email us at gm@oilersbaseball.com and we will get you a copy to review. Custom packages are also available.

Thank you all for your support during the 2013 season! We look forward to seeing you at the ballpark this summer. In the meantime, feel free to call, stop by or email us with any questions, comments or suggestions you may have as to how we may serve you even better in 2014.

Oilers Corner is provided by James Clark, the general manager of the Alaska Baseball League team.
