Soldotna's Davis takes silver medal at Winter X Games

Soldotna’s Cory Davis, 25, nabbed a silver medal in the snowmobile long jump final Saturday at the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colo.

In the fifth and final round, Levi LaVallee jumped 147 feet, 5 inches, to get the gold medal, while Davis went a distance of 142—11 to wrap up a silver medal.

In round four, Davis had assured himself of a gold or silver medal when he went 135-1 and bronze medalist Colten Moore went 132-11.

This is the third medal in the Winter X Games career of Davis. He took bronze medals in men’s snowmobile and style in 2011 and 2009.
