The host Mariners climbed out of a 4-0 hole to tie the game, but the Knights pulled away late Friday for an NLC victory.

Homer fell behind 4-0, but came back to tie the game at 6. However, the Knights struck for two runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh to salt away the win.

Wiley Donich pitched the first five innings for the Mariners and yielded six runs, while Jette finished up on the mound.

J.J. Sonnen led the Mariners at the plate with three hits.

“We played well,” Homer coach Mark Putney said. “We just didn’t make enough plays to win.”
