Kenai Central track teams both take second in Anchorage

The Kenai Central track and field teams both finished second at the Pro Whit track meet at The Dome in Anchorage on Friday and Saturday.

The Kenai boys scored 58 to finish behind the 76 of champion Dimond. The Kardinals girls scored 68 points to finish behind the 79 of champ South Anchorage.

Friday, the Kenai girls were led by victories from Allie Ostrander and Kiana Harding.

Ostrander won the 3,200 in 10 minutes, 3.10 seconds, while teammates Riana Boonstra was third in 11:48.57 and Ithaca Bergholtz was fourth in 12:08.64.

Harding won the long jump with a mark of 15 feet, 2.75 inches, and also was third in the high jump at 4—10. Abby Beck also had a top-six finish for the Kards, taking third in the discus at 97—1.

Friday, Jonah Theisen led the Kenai boys with a win in the 3,200 with a time of 9:32.51. Jordan Theisen was second in 9:39.01.

Also for the Kards, Tobias Randall was fourth in the discus at 109—5, Keenan Orth was third in the high jump at 5—10, Josh Jackman was third in the long jump at 19—10.75 and Karl Danielson was sixth in the long jump at 17—7.5.

Saturday, Ostrander led the Kards with a victory in the 800 at 2:15.30 and a victory in the 1,600 at 4:50.24. The Kards also got victories from the 800 relay team in 1:53.64 and the 1,600 relay team in 4:16.17.

Other top-six finishes for the Kards came from Kyla Whannell in fourth at 13.42 in the 100, Tekaiya Rich in fifth at 13.51 in the 100, Harding in fifth at 28.55 in the 200, Addison Gibson in sixth at 1:03.95 in the 400, Riana Boonstra in fifth at 2:32.01 in the 800, Boonstra in fifth at 5:35.91 in the 1,600, Katie Kilfoyle in sixth at 54.21 in the 300 hurdles, the 400 relay team in third at 54.08 and the 3,200 relay team in fifth at 11:20.4.

Saturday, Jordan Theisen led the Kards by edging his brother, Jonah, in the 1,600. Jordan ran 4:22.08, while Jonah ran 4:22.10.

Also for the Kards, Jordan was third in the 800 at 2:04.27, Travis Cooper was fourth in the 800 at 2:06.84, and Josh Jackman was second in the 300 hurdles at 42.34 and fourth in the 110-meter hurdles at 17.45.

The boys 1,600-relay team picked up a victory in 3:32.89, while the 800 relay was fourth in 1:37.63 and the 3,200 relay was fourth in 8:55.68.
