There is only a few more weeks until golfing season is through. Before you get too wrapped up in school with the kids, and hunting, make sure you come out to Bird Homestead Golf Course for a nice round of golf. Larry Hamilton and Tom Walsh have been working very hard all summer long to get this course in such beautiful shape. It is truly amazing to see how nice the course has become this season. Don’t take my word for it, come and enjoy it for yourself on mile 11.8 on Funny River road.

Ladies Night

Last Wednesday night the ladies had a blast playing a great nine holes of golf. The team that came in first was the dynamic duo of Pat Bird and Margie Ubben. Kelsey Slough not only hit an amazing putt on hole No. 5, winning longest putt, she also crushed her drive on hole No.3 winning long drive. We have a few more weeks of ladies night, it is not too late to take part in our evening of fun. On hole No. 8, Pat bird hit a great tee shot, wining her closest to the pin. Ladies night is on Wednesday nights at 6 p.m., it is not too late in the season to join our evening of fun.

Men’s Night

Although the weather was horrible and hunting season is underway, there were still 20 die hard golfers who showed up for men’s night. Aaron Blackburn was the standouts of the night. Aaron Blackburn not only crushed his drive on hole No. 5, winning long drive, he also had a fabulous tee shot on 6 and won closest to the pin. John Torgerson played a solo game on hole No. 3, winning pure birdie, he also help lead his team to victory. In first place with minus-3 was Ken Ubben, Joel Overway and of course John Torgerson. Men’s night is Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
