Point Hope cagers sweep Nikolaevsk

The Class 2A Point Hope girls and boys basketball teams swept Class 1A Nikolaevsk on Saturday in the final day of the Rex Rock Tournament in Point Hope.

The Point Hope boys dropped Nikolaevsk to 2-1 at the tournament with a 57-53 victory.

Nikit Fefelov had 19 points for the Warriors, while Neil Gordeev and Jonah Fefelov had 11 points apiece.

Also for Nikolaevsk, Felemon Molodih had eight points, Anfim Kalugin had two points and Kalenik Molodih and Greg Trail each had a point.

The Nikolaevsk girls finished 1-2 at the tournament after taking an 81-44 loss to Point Hope.

Megan Hickman had 17 points and Vera Fefelov had 13 points to lead Nikolaevsk, while Serafima Kalugin had seven points, Nadejda Gordeev had four points and Chelsea Johnson had three points.
