The Unalaska boys defeated Nikolaevsk 49-38 in a nonconference clash Wednesday night in Nikolaevsk. The Warriors fell to 13-3 overall with the loss.

Unalaska, which competes in Class 2A basketball in Alaska, is one of the powerhouses of the 2A boys landscape, and finished third at last year’s state tournament.

Ben Enlow led Unalaska with 13 points, 11 coming in the first half. Trevor Wilson added 11 points.

Nikit Fefelov topped Nikolaevsk with 13 points.

The Raiders got the early jump on the Warriors by outscoring the home team 20-6 in the first quarter. Unalaska led 29-20 at halftime, then pushed its lead out to 41-24 after three quarters.

The Nikolaevsk boys will face Ninilchik next Wednesday in a tight Peninsula Conference clash.

The Nikolaevsk girls were unable to play Unalaska Wednesday due to transportation issues.
