The Oilers have completed their 2016 coaching staff. Joining head coach Brian Daly and assistant Eli Silverman is Dustin Yount, a former professional baseball player and most recently a scout for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Dustin is the son of Robin Yount, who spent his entire 20-year career with the Milwaukee Brewers and earned a pair of MVP awards before being elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999. Dustin is also the cousin of 2006 Oilers pitcher and infielder Austin Yount. The 2016 team roster is nearly complete and will soon be available to view on the team’s website at Oilersbaseball.com.

Tory Smith has joined the club as the sports management intern. Tory is a student at Southeast Missouri University where she is majoring in sports management and will soon be returning to graduate in May. The former Soldotna Elementary student presently calls Jackson, Missouri, home. Her present duties include assisting Oilers Administrative Assistant Diana Tice in lining out the upcoming season.

For information regarding special summer events, advertising and all things Oilers, Tory can be reached at torys@oilersbaseball.com or call Tory at 283-7133, Ext. 1, or Diana at Ext. 0.

Oilers Corner is submitted by Mike Baxter, the general manger of baseball operations who can be reached at gm@oilersbaseball.com.
