Skyview High School graduate Michaela Hutchison came up short of qualifying for the Olympics on Saturday and Sunday at the USA Wrestling Olympics Trials in Iowa City, Iowa.
Hutchison’s chance for an Olympic berth ended in the semifinals when she lost to Whitney Conder of Army by a 7-3 decision in the 117-pound bracket. Hutchison then lost to Katherine Fulp-Allen in the third-place match by 6-5 decision.
Hutchison also had lost in the semis of the 2012 trials.
In 2006, Hutchison was a Skyview sophomore when her state wrestling championship made her the first girl in the nation to win a state championship in a tournament including boys.
