St. Mary’s College sophomore infielder Austin Piscotty of Pleasanton, California, has joined the “Peninsula’s team” for the 2016 season. Austin is the brother of current St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Stephen Piscotty, who was a member of the 2010 Oilers.

St. Mary’s teammate and sophomore right-handed pitcher Billy Oxford, of Peoria, Arizona, will also be joining the local team. Another new addition to the team is freshman right-handed pitcher Justin Montgomery, of Corona, California, who plays for former Oilers and current Cal Baptist University head coach Gary Adcock. The Lancers staff also includes assistant coach Jesse Zepeda, who was an infielder on the 1994 National Baseball Congress World Series Champion Peninsula Oilers.

The 2016 season is rapidly approaching and the team still has needs a few more homes for incoming players. The team will be arriving the evening of June 3. Transportation for players will be provided for team events throughout the season. For more information regarding the Oilers Summer Parent Program contact Diana Tice at 283-7133, Ext. 0.

Submitted my Mike Baxter, chairman of the Peninsula Oilers Baseball Operations Committee.
