Birch Ridge has had a great week of early season golfers and new growth on fairways and putting greens. Don’t let the pollen in the air, on the cars, trees, benches and windows scare you! With warmer than normal temperatures, course conditions continue to improve. We all have been waiting for No. 8 green to open for 2016 season. Saturday we were on all permanent greens!

Our Senior golfers took advantage of our early season, competing in their first event Monday. Mike Hollingsworth edged out the rest, scoring 32 net. Kurt Nelson had the magic on No. 6 for closest to the pin, and John Davis beat out the rest on No. 8. Longest putt belonged to Ed Robinson, but only measured in at 18 inches.

Ladies start this coming Tuesday. Check in 9:30 a.m. All levels of skill are welcome.

Can’t play Monday morning because, you know, you work? Come out Wednesday evening.

Men’s Night-Reignite!

Coming back to Birch Ridge is the Wednesday Men’s Night. First round is Wednesday, starting at 5:30 p.m. Tee times and both individual and team play are offered. Call the pro shop for more info and to sign up.

Or maybe to go to work in the afternoon? Come out before 9 a.m. and pay $15 for your greens fee during the month of June. Great time to help the crew sweep the dew.

Learning opportunities

Is there a kiddo in your life that wants to learn more about golf? The Birch Ridge Golf Association Junior Golf Clinic starts June 13 to 17, from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Sign up at the pro shop now.
