All right folks, it’s time. Time to sign up for the 2016 Pro-Am and All Alaskan Pro Skins Game. This July 11, we gather all the golf professionals we can and pair them up with three amateurs for 18 holes of intense competition. Call the pro shop to get signed up. After the tournament, the top pros from the day go out for a big skins game, and it is a blast.

Club Results

Monday Morning Seniors

As per usual, it seems that one person dominates a morning for the senior Monday group. This week, it went to Mike Hollingsworth. Hollingsworth had the low net of 36.

With greens that were still as fast as glass from the tournament the day before, Darrell Jelsma was closest-to at the sixth, Hollingsworth was closest-to at the eighth and Hollingsworth had the longest putt.

Tuesday Morning Ladies

Fifteen lovely ladies came to play. Kaylee Christensen had the short game down, having fewest putts, a birdie at the ninth and a chip-in at the fifth. Well done Kaylee! Low gross went to Margaret Stanley and low net was won by Denise Cox. The Mystery Hole winner was Lisa Parker.

Tuesday Evening Couples

Lisa and Margaret didn’t stop at the morning play, and came out again in the evening to compete against three other four-player teams. And, they won! The format was four-player scramble, and everyone had a great time. The team of Steve Horn, Lisa Parker, Vic Hussey and Margaret Stanley won with a 32. Darrell Jelsma was the sharp shooter, winning closest-to on Nos. 6 and 8. Again, it was BYOM and we all grilled up something delicious!

Wednesday Evening Men’s Night

Twenty-one guys came out to compete this week, and it was HOT! It broke down to six teams, with second place going to Bill Haese, Monte Roberts, Skip Dove and Mark Baker. They shot 30, which is a great score, but it was beat by a single stroke by the team of Matt Federle, Tyler Yamada and Gary Davis. Great playing guys!

Long drive went to Steve Fickes, and Matt Widaman made the best pure birdie at the fourth. Closest-to on No. 6 went to Rob Moore, hitting it 16 feet, 5 inches. Robert Stiver came out for the first time and hit it 10—1 on No. 8. Reminder, next Wednesday is BIG Wednesday! Payouts are double, and so are payouts! Also, we will be doing burger specials (if the weather is nice).

Juniors

Today we finished up tour Birch Ridge Golf Association Jr Golf Championship, and we had 21 young players battle it out for the glory. While I won’t go into full details here, I will list the winners of each division. For full results, we will post them to Facebook and in our weekly newsletter.

Here are the winners of each division: boys 8-9 years old (six holes) — Dax Widaman, 35; girls 8-9 years old (six holes) — Evelyn Cooper, 41; boys 10-12 years old (nine holes) — Shane Sundberg, 41; girls 10-12 years old (nine holes) — Anika Richards, 41; boys 13-plus years old (nine holes) — Caleb Tachick, 54; Girls 13-plus years old (nine holes) — Katelin Richards, 44.

Congratulations to all the winners and a huge thank you to all the parents that helped us with the event!
