There is nothing better than enjoying a round of golf at a very unique golf course. Bird Homestead golf course is a very fun and unique place to play a round, located 13 miles down Funny River Road. Not only is the drive beautiful, so is the course. Larry Hamilton and his crew have been working hard for you to enjoy a nice round of golf on freshly cut fairways, nicely groomed tee boxes and some incredible greens.

Don’t have clubs? You can rent some. Don’t want to walk? They also have carts to rent.

Ladies Night

Despite the ugly, rainy weather we had some true die-hard lady golfers last Wednesday night for ladies night. The duo of Faith Link and Kelsey Slough were the winning team of the night, coming in with a score of 1-over. Pat Bird had an amazing drive, winning long drive.

Every Wednesday night at 6:30 is ladies night. You don’t have to be a good golfer to join the fun. It is blind-draw, best-ball scramble format.

Men’s Night

There was an incredible 37 guys for men’s night Tuesday. The first-place team with an amazing score of minus-6 went to the team of Steve G., Roy Bird, Travis Robertson and Ken Ubben. Four teams came in with a score of minus-3, so the Bird Homestead chip-off took place in order to determine second place.

Trevor Baldwin landed closest to the pin to win his team of Steve Ellis, Don Davis, James Kozel and himself second place. Not only did Trevor Baldwin help his team with the second-place victory, he also hit an amazing tee shot on No. 8, winning closest to.

Chris Rich was on fire, winning closest to on No. 6 and also long drive on No. 4. Pure birdie was split between Aaron Blackburn and Steve Tachick. Men’s night is every Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. It is a blind-draw, best-ball scramble.

Fact of the day

Golf was first played at the Olympic games in Paris in 1990, only to be removed after 1904. It returns in 2016 after more than a century of absence.
