The ninth and final race of the Soldotna Cycle Series was held Thursday at Tsalteshi Trails, using a pursuit format where bikers started based on their times earlier in the season.

Darrell Kincaid was first across the line with a time of 50 minutes, 6 seconds, on his fat bike on the 6.17-mile, one-loop course with 670 feet of elevation gain and loss.

Ethan Hogue, at 50:19, was next across the line to also claim first place amongst the youth. The first woman to finish the course was Megan Anderson at 53:27.

While Thursday marked the end of the Soldotna Cycle Series for the summer, it didn’t mark the end of bike racing this year at Tsalteshi.

Psychocross will be Sept. 10, with more information on tsalteshi.org. Then the Chainwreck Cyclocross Series begins Sept. 15 at Tsalteshi, running every Thursday until Oct. 20, unless, of course, there actually is snow accumulation by then.
