Jonah Theisen leads Black Hills to 3rd at Division II race at Griak Invite

Kenai Central graduate Jonah Theisen led Black Hills State of Spearfish, South Dakota, to a third-place finish in the Division II race at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minnesota on Saturday.

Theisen was the team’s top finisher, running the eight-kilometer course in 26 minutes, 45.5 seconds, to finish 17th.

On Sept. 9, Theisen and his brother, Jordan, helped Black Hills dominate the Gage McSpadden Memorial Invitational at Spearfish Canyon Country Club.

Jonah, a sophomore, finished the six-kilometer course in fourth with a time of 20:38.9, while Jordan was in seventh at 20:52.0.

Also at the race, Seward graduate Michael Marshall, now at Black Hills, was 22nd in 22:02.3, while his brother Jacob Marshall, of Montana State University Billings, was 26th in 22:28.9.
