Sand Point basketball sweeps Nikolaevsk

The visiting Sand Point girls and boys basketball teams notched a nonconference sweep over Nikolaevsk on Monday. The girls won 53-40, while the boys notched a 75-53 victory.

In the girls game, the Eagles won behind an 18-7 finishing kick in the fourth quarter.

Justina Porcincula had 20 point to pace the Eagles, while Nicole Gundersen pitched in with 16. For Nikolaevsk, Vera Fefelov had 17 points, while Elizabeth Fefelov added 14.

In the boys game, Sand Point had a 43-27 lead at halftime. Colten Mack had 18 for the Eagles, while Anthony Webster had 17, Joseph Ortega had 14 and Karl Smith had 11.

For Nikolaevsk, Anfim Kalugin had 19 and Nikit Fefelov added 17.
