Tuesday hoops: SoHi netters sweep Homer

The Soldotna boys capped the Stars’ senior night Tuesday with a 65-43 nonconference win over Homer.

The Stars improve to 10-15 overall with the win.

Caleb Spence led the Stars with 13 points in a balanced scoring effort. Ten SoHi players finished in the scoring column.

SoHi also got 12 points from Kyle Marcuson, who knocked down three 3-pointers, and eight from Jersey Truesdell off the bench. Jordan Beachy paced the Mariners with 11 points.

SoHi got off to a 15-7 start after the first quarter, then extended its lead to 16 at halftime and 19 at the end of the third quarter.

Soldotna girls 50, Homer 15

The Stars rolled to a nonconference victory Tuesday at SoHi with a dominant showing above the Mariners.

The win puts SoHi at 13-13 overall with just one game left, a 3 p.m. Saturday Northern Lights Conference clash against Kenai Central.
