The rain is not all bad. Bird Homestead Golf Course has some amazing fairways and greens thanks to Mother Nature and our grounds crew. The rain has been great for the fairways and golfers are squeezing in their rounds in between rainfalls.
The season is quickly coming to an end and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers and especially our association members for the loyal business. We have one of the strongest associations I have ever experienced. They spend many hours helping groom the course and clearing areas to make the fairways a better shot. Thank you to all of you.
Men’s night is still going strong with 21 guys Tuesday night. Tyson Jolliffe crushed a drive on No. 4, beating out Jeff Gillman and Trevor Baldwin for long drive. Scott Sundberg and Travis Robertson split the pot for pure birdie at the sixth and Larry Taylor won closest to the pin on No. 6.
Cuz Cousins landed his ball closest to the pin on No. 8 for the winnings. The top two teams came in at 4 under. In a chip-off, Ken Ubben won his team of Scott Sundberg and Tyson Jolliffe first place, beating out Roy Bird, Cuz Cousins and Richard Harman. The guys will be teeing off at 6 p.m. next Tuesday so come on out and play while you can.
The season may be close to over but the course is looking amazing and our friendly staff are here to greet you. Take that beautiful fall drive 11.9 miles out Funny River Road and play a round while the grass is still green.
