SoHi cheer students to perform at Disney World

A pair of Soldotna High School cheerleaders will represent the Stars today through Sunday at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

SoHi students Seryn Tyler Sproul and Joanna Cornelius will join more than 800 high school cheerleaders and dancers nationwide that were selected to represent the Varsity Spirit organization at the third annual Varsity Spirit Spectacular at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Sproul and Cornelius were invited to perform after attending a Varsity Spirit summer camp this year in Memphis, Tennessee. Sproul and Cornelius are part of a exclusive group of 10th to 12th grade captains, co-captains and officers from the camp that were selected to represent the Varsity Spirit brand, an organization that drives “cheerleading’s dynamic transformation into the high-energy, athletic activity it is today”, according to a Varsity Spirit press release.

The SoHi cheer team co-captains will perform with others in front of hundreds of fans throughout Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park. The trip also provides the opportunity to meet cheerleaders and dancers from across the nation.
