Homer hockey tops Kenai

The Homer hockey team notched an 8-2 North Star Conference victory over Kenai Central on Saturday at the Kenai Multi-Purpose Facility.

The game was 2-0 until late in the second period, but Homer ran away from there.

The deep Mariners got two goals from Isaiah Nevak, then goals from Tyler Gilliland, JJ Williamson, Lee Lowe, Phin Weston, Alden Ross and Ethan Pitzman. Kenai’s goals came from Matt Hagel and Nate Beiser.

Josh Tree had 49 saves for Kenai, while Hunter Warren saved 20 for Homer.
