Ninilchik hoops split with Birchwood

The Ninilchik basketball program split a pair of Peninsula Conference games Wednesday night at Birchwood Christian.

The Ninilchik girls cruised to a 35-10 win, while the Birchwood Christian boys notched a 59-36 victory over Ninilchik.

In girls action, DeeAnn White netted a game-high 18 points for the Wolverines, while teammate Olivia Delgado scored 15. Ninilchik led 12-1 by the end of the first quarter and 23-4 at halftime en route to the dominating win.

Seth Alexander poured in 12 points in the first quarter of the boys game to lead Birchwood Christian to an 18-8 lead in the first quarter. Alexander ended up with 14 points, while teammtae Joel Swanbury finished with a team-high 15 points for Birchwood.

George Nelson led Ninilchik with 12 points and Garrett Koch and Jake Clark had nine each.
