2015 Kenai Central graduate Allie Ostrander helped the Boise State women to a third consecutive victory in the distance medley relay Thursday at the Mountain West indoor championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The Soldotna runner started her 1,600-meter leg, the final leg in the race, with a lead of 40 meters, but New Mexico was able to take the lead 600 meters into the race. On the backstretch of the last lap, Ostrander surged to take the lead for good.

The Broncos finished at 11 minutes, 5.39 seconds, to set a new school record, Mountain West championship record and Albuquerque Convention Center record. The time also is the third-fastest in Mountain West history and converts to 10:55.32, based on altitude, to give the quartet the top time in the nation this season.
