The Nikolaevsk mixed six volleyball team defeated Seldovia for the Denali Conference title Saturday in Seldovia. Both squads qualify for the Mixed Six State Tournament in Anchorage, starting Dec. 3. It is the third-straight state trip for the Warriors.

The Kenai Central hockey team defeated Juneau-Douglas 3-2 on Saturday at the Soldotna Region Sports Complex for its first win of the year. The Kards, who lost 12-4 to the Crimson Bears on Friday, improve to 1-4, while Juneau drops to 1-2.

The Coulee Region (Wisconsin) Chill swept the Kenai River Brown Bears on Friday and Saturday in North American Hockey League play at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex. Friday, the Bears yielded three goals in 46 seconds in a 5-2 loss in front of 589.
