The Mariners picked up a 14-4 victory over Southcentral Conference opponent Houston in six innings Monday in Homer. Homer moved to 4-4 in the conference with the win and 5-5 overall.

The Kenai softball team dropped a pair of nonconference games in a weekend road trip to the Matanuska-Susitna valleys. The Kardinals lost 16-2 to Colony on Friday in three innings, and 13-1 to Wasilla on Saturday in four innings.

The Nikiski girls got a needed boost headed into this weekend's Northern Lights Conference soccer tournament. After losing at Wasilla 10-0 on Friday, the Bulldogs came back and lost 2-1 at Grace Christian on Saturday.
