Colby Blueberg and Kyle Hunt from the University of Nevada, Reno, have signed with the Peninsula Oilers for the 2013 season. Blueberg, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound sophomore right-handed pitcher, managed a 5.02 ERA in 22 appearances in 2012.

Area ski teams got in some racing this weekend despite low-snow conditions. The races were held on Headquarters Lake, and with Saturday night's big snowfall, hopefully that venue has been retired for the year.
