Jim Dawson, a longtime high school football assistant on the Kenai Peninsula, will take over the Kenai Central program from John Marquez.
Kenai assistant principal Jim Beeson said Marquez resigned during the school year, mostly due to personal reasons.

With a lot of hard work by Bill Engberg and his merry band of mowers (with an assist from the sun) the golf course is rounding into form wonderfully. In another two weeks the greens will be dialed! Exciting news for every golfer.
Kenai Golf Course is in great condition. All 18 greens are in superb shape. The early season delay and poor weather conditions have given way to outstanding playing conditions unmatched in recent years.
The American Legion Twins split with South on the road Sunday, losing the league game and winning the nonleague game.
The Twins are now 3-4 in the league and 4-8 overall. That puts the Twins in ninth place in the league.
