The Soldotna volleyball team tied for fifth in the Silver Bracket at the 12-team Chugiak Invitational on Saturday. The Stars were pushed into the Silver Bracket after finishing 2-7-1 in pool play on Friday.
The Kenai Central and Seward swimming teams got the season started with a low-key meet Friday at Kenai.
"It was a good first meet," Kenai co-head coach Judy Lallier said. "I liked what I saw on turns and starts.
