The Lost Lake Run was held Saturday on the 15.75-mile trail between Primrose Campground and the Bear Creek Fire Department in Seward. Runners start at Primrose Campground and climb up to Lost Lake at 2,100 feet before descending to Seward. Area finishers follow:

The first prep swimming competition of the fall season resulted in the Kenai Central girls bringing home the team title and Soldotna doing the same on the boys side.
Homer also made the trip up to battle with Kenai and Soldotna, which allowed the teams to get an idea of where they stand among their competition.

Not even Mother Nature can rain on Stephen Hartley's parade. The Nikiski senior running back slogged through a near-constant downpour and muddy field conditions to pile up 288 yards and score six touchdowns Friday night in a 49-25 blowout over Houston in nonconference play.

Kenai Central sophomore Allie Ostrander stormed to another win at the Skyview Invitational on the Tsalteshi Trails on Saturday afternoon.
Ostrander’s time of 17 minutes, 37 seconds, bettered her time of 17:53 from last year, although the course layout this year was slightly changed.

In weekend volleyball action, Soldotna placed third at the Chugiak Invitational, while Skyview won the Shayna Pritchard Memorial Volleyball Tournament. Also, Seward defeated Homer in Southcentral Conference action.
