The Homer hockey team defeated visiting Kenai Central 3-0 on Tuesday in North Star Conference action. The Kards are now 2-7 and 0-1 in the conference. "We played a little bit better," Kenai Central coach Pete Iverson said.

A group of football players from the Kenai Peninsula competed in the 36th annual North vs. South Senior Bowl on Nov. 3 in Anchorage. The Peninsula players made up the small-medium school South team. That squad lost 34-22 to the North team.

Both the Skyview and Soldotna volleyball teams won the Academic Award at the Alaska School Activities Association state volleyball tournament, which ended Saturday. The Panthers, who finished fourth in the 3A tournament, won the award with a GPA of 3.
