The prep hockey season kicks into full gear today for North Star Conference squads, with Juneau playing Soldotna at 6 p.m. and Kenai Central facing North Pole at 8 p.m. in the first day of the Peninsula Ice Challenge at the Soldotna Sports Center.

Skyview led the Kenai Peninsula wrestlers at the ACS Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Anchorage with a fifth-place finish. The Panthers scored 133 points, while Bethel won the meet with 258.5 and Kotzebue was second with 177.5.

The Kenai River Brown Bears swept the Wichita Falls (Texas) Wildcats on Friday and Saturday at the Soldotna Sports Center in North American Hockey League play. The Bears won 9-3 on Friday and 5-2 on Saturday.
