The Kenai River Brown Bears wrapped up their main selection camp Monday at the Veterans Memorial Community Center in Inner Grove Heights, Minn.

Skyview High School has released practice information about volleyball and swimming. The volleyball team will have its first practice Aug. 12 from 3 to 6 p.m. Athletes need to have a physical before participation.

The ABC Pregnancy Care Center held the Celebrate Life! 5K Run and Walk on Saturday. The event was free to the public and had 227 participants, over 40 volunteers, 18 sponsors and multiple in-kind contributors. The run was timed, but the walk was not.

The Kenai Central High School cross-country running team will start practice Monday, with a 3 to 5 p.m. meeting at the front entrance. A parent should be available for paperwork. After Monday, practices will be from 10 a.m. to noon.

Here are the results for Salmon Run Series #4 and Salmon Cycle Series #3 and #4. Both the run and cycle series continue this week. The run is again Wednesday, with registration and bib pickup starting at 5 p.m. and racing starting at 6 p.m.
